Homework: No week-end homework. A reminder that picture day is Monday.
Language Arts: Today we explored how characters change. We also discussed the symbolism of the hermit crab in the story we read. We discussed the theme of the story. We are really getting a great understanding of literary devices in preparation for our reading of the Revealers by Doug Wilhelm.
Math: Today students worked in pairs on looking at patterns and communicating their mathematical ideas in writing. Students made T charts and found patterns. They created and wrote proofs for rules/formulas to solve problems using variables.
Social Studies: Students had class time to finish their worksheets on directions. They also had an opporutnity to explore some of the map games.
Science: Today we talked about variables and control set-ups for performing experiments. We learned why you should have only one variable tested while performing an experiment.
We ended our day at the Miller Center for an orientation to the Youth Center space.
